THE INDIGENOUS TRIBES ARE DYING!!

The Coronavirus is attacking! The rainy season is over and the river low water level in the river makes traveling by boat very difficult. The indigenous people living in the Pilon Lajas Reserve depend on the river to go to town. The nearest hospitals are hours away in the twin towns of Rurrenabaque and San Buenaventura sited on opposite banks of the Rio Beni. The two hospitals have 16 intensive care beds. Five towns depend on the two hospitals for medical care. The 20 or so Indigenous communities ranging from 4 families to 50 also depend on the.  On June 30, there were 53 known cases in the towns. The authorities estimate there were at least this many cases in the    indigenous villages in the surrounding jungle. These low income people fear leaving home because they have no masks and know that the hospitals are overflowing. They are suffering and dying alone. They have no one to provide medical assistance. Please help us to help them get masks. Our hope is to help the hospitals to buy ventilators and other urgently needed supplies. Please be generous.
